Stupid Anti-Spam measures
How does the new aol, yahoo, msn and like with their new, so called "anti-spam" measures affect you ?
Think of how stupid this actually is, Spam detection should be non-intrusive. Whitelists, Rbl lists, Bayesian filters are known ways to fight spam. OK so it ain't perfect, but the whole point here is not to inconvenience the users.
The only thing they are doing is saying, Spammers who can pay up, will be allowed to spam. All legitimate email users, either pay up or risk being labelled as spam. This is not anti-spam, Its just another $$ making racket.
So If you want to be certified clean, You PAY to send an Email. Do not be fooled by their claims of "normal users will be able to send". Check this yourselves, How many times have Legitimate Email you have sent to a friend, relative and loved one, landed up in the Junk Box?
It is akin to the local postman throwing out your mail..
Email should be free. Since I consider it an insult that legitimate mail I send to friends be labelled as spam and junked, I have Decided to stop Mailing those accounts. Depending on how they decide to implement this "wonderful" plan of theirs, I might also decide to stop accepting mail from these accounts.
As I see it, they are only taking $$ from would be Spammers and call it legit. I do not have to be subject to this. I refuse too.
Please find me henceforth on the Jabber Messenger Network. Google Gtalk is a good Chat Server to use. If you wish to contact me from those accounts, while I still accept mail from there, i suggest you use the contact me form on this site.
