Your messenger client should have a 'connect using SSL', might be under Advanced Settings.

Now im really getting ticked off. AOL MSN YAHOO are all playing up. Mails sent are getting dumped into the junk / spam folders. They call it anti-spam, I call it playing spoilt sport. There are better non-intrusive methods which we use to block spam . They are simply scared of the competition. Google for news on this....
I have decided to cease using my Ids on these and going to stop mailing those accounts. more on that later...

Heres how to setup Gaim to use the GTALK Jabber servers. At least there is some decency left in the industry... Thanks Google.

Add Account:
Protocol: Jabber
screen name:
server: gmail.com
Resouce: Gaim

Then click on : Show more options


port : 5222
Connect server : talk.google.com
